Liquid Hydrogen
On-site green hydrogen production and liquefaction — with the cryogenic systems to store it efficiently.
The challenge
Green hydrogen carries no fossil footprint — it's made by electrolysis powered by solar and wind, then used directly as energy or converted to H₂ for storage and mobility. Whether you compress or liquefy depends on how you'll use it. Liquefaction wins when large volumes travel long distances, or when there isn't space on board for the bulkier compressed-gas tanks.
The solution
API supports both compression and liquefaction routes, and can produce hydrogen on-site from LNG. From production to storage, you get an integrated cryogenic solution sized for your application.
What we offer to your process
Liquid Hydrogen Production
Produce high-purity hydrogen on-site using low-pressure steam reforming. The process runs on natural gas with very low electrical demand, keeping installation and operating costs minimal — then our cryogenic systems liquefy and store it efficiently.
Liquid Hydrogen BOG Management
Stored liquid hydrogen evaporates as heat enters the tank — boil-off gas (BOG). Rather than vent it and lose energy, API's BOG solutions re-liquefy it and return it to the tank.
Compression or liquefaction — which fits your use case?
It comes down to your volumes, transport distances, and how the hydrogen will be used. API's engineers help you choose the route and specify the production, liquefaction, and BOG equipment to match — so you're not guessing.
